Family Engagement professionals respond to families seeking developmental and parenting information, referrals to various community agencies, and/or seeking to learn more about Baby TALK Family Engagement programs.
Baby TALK Times (BTT)
Professionals facilitate small groups using the Baby TALK Family Engagement Approach. These groups are designed for families with children birth to three to share parenting questions and concerns, to celebrate babies’ achievements and to have shared interactions with books, toys, songs and finger plays. BTTs take place in a variety of community sites. Sessions take place weekly at Decatur Public Library, Forsyth Library, and New Life Pregnancy Center. BTTs also take place regularly at Central A&M and Argenta-Oreana. No need to sign up ahead of time! Just join us when you can!
Ever Better Babies
Ever Better Babies is a community support group designed for families with children birth to three. Families enjoy fun relationship-building activities, socialize with other community families and are offered breastfeeding support from certified lactation consultants.
Group for Adolescents Who are Parenting
Professionals facilitate this small group monthly at New Life Pregnancy Center using the Baby TALK Family Engagement Approach. Group is designed for adolescents who are parenting children birth to three to share parenting questions and concerns, to celebrate babies’ achievements and to have shared interactions with books, toys, songs and finger plays. A meal is provided and attendees receive Care Cash to use at the New Life Pregnancy Center’s Blessing Boutique to purchase items such as diapers, baby clothes, baby furniture, etc.
Other Community Events
Baby TALK, along with community collaborators, hosts regular events open to all community families with young children. These events include The Lullaby Concert, International Mud Day Celebration, and The Cardboard Challenge.
