Baby TALK presents at the 33rd Zero to Three Conference
Denver, CO. – October 2018
Using home visiting to support mental health among immigrants and refugees
A panel of home visitors, clinicians, and researchers came together at the annual Zero to Three Conference to discuss the findings of a randomized controlled trial that showed the positive impact of home visiting on child development, adult and early childhood mental health, and the overall adjustment of trauma-exposed refugee and immigrant families. The presentation provided details on culturally-sensitive approaches to establishing and maintaining strong relationships between home visitors and culturally- and linguistically diverse families while discussing notable benefits and challenges in service delivery for hard-to-reach immigrant populations.
